Certicom, a leading provider of next-generation encryption technology, and Datamaxx Applied Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of information technology to law enforcement agencies, today announced a licensing agreement whereby Datamaxx will secure its CyberFORCE wireless platform with encryption technology designed by Certicom. Certicom's elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) will offer Datamaxx customers, such as the New York City Police Department, additional trust and assurance that their wireless transactions will be protected across the full range of wireless devices supported by the CyberFORCE™ platform.

Datamaxx will provide continued support for these customers, while working with new customers to introduce them to Datamaxx’s enhanced mobile products and services.
“Datamaxx is committed to serving the wireless communications needs of the public safety market, and this agreement is another very important step to meeting that objective,” said Kay Stephenson, President and CEO of Datamaxx. “We have strengthened our business by adding not only new products and services but also new customers who understand the value of wireless communications in the mission-critical public safety environment.”
In addition to relationships with new customers, Datamaxx will gain a team of very talented and experienced engineering and wireless product systems professionals. This expertise will accelerate the development of additional wireless applications for the new Datamaxx OMNIXX Force Product Suite, the next generation of wireless products, releasing early third quarter of 2002.
