8. Good question.
I've been like this for 3 years. I first started asking questions about the voting stuff nearly two years ago. Before that, I was deeply immersed in researching the Enron collapse, for a solid year.

At first, I'll admit, it's physically difficult. To take in the new information that everything is FUBAR, it takes some serious realignment of one's sense of the world. It's like that island that moved because of the earthquake -- your sense of stability, that all's right with the world, is set off balance.

When you really get into it and realize that many corporations, many of the wealthy, most of Congress, the White House, most of the media, and some religious and other leaders are in this deal to destroy, rape and pillage, it is not a fun realization.

So, anyway, I remember how long it took to free the slaves, to win the vote for women, to bring gay rights out of invisibility. I want instant results, but I remember that grass roots efforts take a long time to build.
