38. Gotta change the public perception of the Dem party first
In surveys, people generally rate members of both parties' honesty down with used car salesmen (at the bottom of all professions rated). In fact, a few years ago, a Korean company produced a voice lie detector (voice stress analyzer) that they claimed was highly accurate - except for politicians. They explained that politians lied so much they were desensitized, so the stress could no longer be detected in their voice when they lied. LOL

I DO think that the currently dominant repubs have taken dishonesty to a whole new level though, and many people of ALL parties (and independents too) are really sick of it and are looking for a change.

I think the actions of politicians like Boxer, Conyers, etc. are certainly a step in the right direction, and can only help to enhance the image of the Dem party. And certainly putting "Dean in as head of the DNC" will send a message of "new honesty". People are used to (discouraged/exasperated by) politicians sending "mixed messages". Dean's appointment will send a very clear message.
