I don't really remember the 1960 Olympics, I was only 6. The first ones I remember clearly were the 1964 Olympics in Innsbruck and Toyko.
I do remember Avery Brundage though. He was an asshat of the highest order. I think the last Olympics he presided over were the Summer Olympics in Munich in 1972 and we all know what happened at those. If I remember rightly he wouldn't even have a day of mourning for the Israeli athletes that were killed. He spouted some BS about sports being above politics or something. I remember my father at the time saying ole Avery should retire.
