8. I sense that we are spiritual beings...

...that there is something MORE. Seriously, I'm ok if there is nothing more. However, I just sense that
this is just one slice of experience within a broader experience.

I have no proof. I don't have a problem anyone knocking how I feel, because I have absolutely no proof.

However, I will say this---the spirituality and other stuff that I sense--has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do
with most religions and religious dogma that I've encountered. I find most of the "tales" and back stories
absolutely absurd. I don't know why people need to believe in these bizarre stories. I feel that these
stories (creation, virgin birth, etc) do more to prevent us from a higher consciousness or awareness.

Again, just my point of view.

What bothers me the most about religion is that most churches breed a judgmental "Church Lady" mentality. If you
don't believe all of this stuff, you are somehow an amoral, shady, sub-par human being who isn't
as superior as those who believe the Bible word for word.

What I can't say, is, "Look, I don't look down on you because you believe a load of nonsense that
absolutely sounds like a fairy tale--of which you have absolutely no proof or scientific evidence--so
please don't judge me because I choose not to blindly accept your dogma." But I would like to say that.

I feel that people who are unsure, or people who don't buy into most dogma--must stay in some kind of closet--for
fear of judgments and unfair stereotypes. People assume you aren't a good person if you don't go to church
or if you don't believe in the rapture.

I don't think we can possibly know the final truth about these subjects with the information we have. Maybe we
were purposely denied truth. Maybe this is all there is. I don't know. That's my religion--I simply don't know.

Very few people seem to feel this way, and most people seem to revere those who are religious and committed to
blindly following dogma and judging others who don't believe as they do. I think it's an ugly part of our
society.
