I can easily see Wade "the skirt chaser" Boggs being inducted into the HOF.

But Ryan Sandberg? In the article, you'll notice they promoted
Ryan's defensive skills, and at no time do they mention Sandberg's batting average. Hell, they kept Bill Mazeroski out of the HOF for being the best defensive 2nd baseman in history. And he had to wait until Ted William's died and the remaining Old Timer's inducted him. Ted never gave the nod to anyone with a low batting average. Maybe Maz broke some ground when he was inducted for his defense.
