23. First of all . . .
. . . "quiche-eater" is a fan who thinks the designated hitter is God's gift to baseball, or sees the benefit of others rules in other sports which artificially tilt the balance toward the offense on the mistaken belief that a high scoring game is somehow more exciting that a tense, strategic struggle.

Second, I recall a poster (no names, but his initials are Md/Md) who recently made a ridiculous statement about the 49ers' Super Bowl rings being asterisked because of the criminal nature of the team's former owner. Excuse me, but Mr. De Bartolo may have had some shady friends like Governor Edwards, but he knew how an owner should run a football team. So he ran it that way; he hired Bill Walsh and told him to do his thing. All he had to do with the 49ers' success during those years was write the checks to pay the bills.

So, Mr. De Bartolo, criminal though he may have been, never suited up for a single play. Now compare that to the Cowboys, for whom criminals do suit up and take the field.
