"Before this gay marriage controversy, I had no responsibilities as Miss California. I had to go to churches and events and say 'Hey - I'm Miss California. Can I appear?'"

Uh huh. Sure Carrie. You are probably the only Miss <insert state here> representative that didn't have a pre-set schedule of appearances that you were to make.

And since you're such a devout Christian, I know you wouldn't lie.
