6. I had a Bunn GR10 & have just replaced it with a Presto -
Scandinavian Design - http://www.gopresto.com/products/products.php?stock=02830

I've seen this compared to the Technivorm but cheaper ($46 with shipping from www.costco.com) Check this website for lots of reviews and feedback: http://www.coffeegeek.com/

I was in love with my Bunn for the first year - it made hot coffee FAST. Another feature is that it reheats the water in 15 minutes. As long as the water is really hot, the fast brewing time doesn't seem to impact the coffee brew but I started noticing that even several hours later, the coffee was lukewarm and weak. After I had several coffee drinking friends over in January and couldn't get a 2nd pot made (that I would serve...) I called Bunn.

While they were friendly, they didn't know about this problem and let me know that my model was under recall for a fire hazard. My options were to send my Bunn back for repair (several weeks without a coffeemaker or buy a replacement)or to purchase a Bunn NHB at half the full retail price. I almost did that until I found out that I had to mail them MY machine first, then they would send the replacement. At that point, since I'd be buying another machine anyway, I looked for alternatives. I didn't go with another Bunn because I was really unhappy with the customer service or lack of it. They didn't seem to understand why I wasn't willing to go a couple weeks without a coffee maker.

I've had the Presto about a month now and have been happy with it. Makes good, HOT coffee in the more normal 8-10 minute range.
