C&B has gone quiet lately. What's happenin where you are?

Farmers market opens tomorrow in my town, and there are fifteen tiny baby turkeys in the incubator in the garage. Lilacs are blooming even though it's still only in the 50s and rainy.

Asparagus is much too expensive still. Don't know why.

Last night I made a lovely loaf of whole wheat banana bread to send to the college freshman. I use concentrated orange juice in it, and it has good flavor and nutrition.

I feel like baking! I need to develop a gluten-free pie crust that tastes good, and I need to test some recipes for a reliable hand pie dough. Probably a galette dough with butter. Yesterday I was at a "whole foods" type market and saw galettes made with goat cheese, roasted asparagus and sliced almonds. They lookied scrumptious.
