I have a new monitor, and the characters in "Morrowind" are now fat..

...that is, they are all stretched out.

I've tried downloading and running stuff like the FPS, the graphics extender, and the resolution tweaker, but I have an ominous feeling that they were all written pre-Vista because they will not load or run properly on my Vista 64-bit system.

Anyone got any ideas on what to do to get the aspect ratio back to where it should be? I can live with fat characters and funny-looking buildings but it would be nice to lose the distortion.

The monitor is a 1920 x 1080, 50-60 Hz Dell, with Morrowing GOTY edition running on the above noted Vista OS.
