He was smart, funny, and totally at ease. He was most definitely in charge of the interview, even though it was Russert who was asking the questions.

And he shows so much damned courage - unlike some others we could name. You're right - he didn't have to do the interview at all, and he certainly knew ahead of times what questions he's be asked. I also liked the way he owned the mistakes of the campaign.

I admit that one of my secret favorite things he does is to answer questions with a flat yes or no. It always makes me giggle - you know just what he's thinking when he does it. ("F*** that 'flip-flopper' crap.")
