21. It would certainly be interesting
First of all, remember that all we have right now are the tea leaves. It is too soon for anything else. The Dems in general have to work their way back from the perception that the last election was so bad that we are all doomed. (Gawd, I hate that. Kind of a Debby Downer thing. Hmmm, Debby Downer must work as a pundit, or a Deaniac.)

This is no more or less doable than anyone else's campaign. There is a lot of time between now and 2008. (Or 2007 when decisions will be finalized.) So much work to be done. But there are exciting things going on. Yes, I'm serious. I am feeling oddly hopeful, not just in here, but for Dems. I truly believe that there is a turning point coming. There is good news on opposing the destruction of Social Security by the Rethugs. Dems are uniting against these regressive proposals. I am getting the feeling that the MSM is starting to grow a spine and is beginning to actually report some of the bad news on the * Admin. (Somebody leaked that report today that we are no longer looking for WMD and that the final report says they never existed. And the Washington Post, which had it's lips firmly planted against *'s ass when he proposed the war printed it immediately.) The only thing lower than *'s poll ratings are the poll ratings of Rethugs in Congress. Christine Gregoire got sworn in today and the Rethugs looked ridiculous in their election protests. (When they do it, they are preserving democracy; when we protest we are sore losers. What a crock.)

None of these prognostications matter yet. What matters is that Dems stand up and do their job. Make the Bushies sweat. (We lack the votes to affect policy right now, so we have to become highly effective pains in the ass. Get the message across about how incompetent and harmful this admin's policies have been and continue to be.) I think JK will start making the press rounds starting next week or the week after. (Next week is ideal, as he will be on that panel that questions Condi for Sec of State.) Be of good cheer, there are good things that will happen.
