3. Sigh! Merry Friggin Holiday, huh!
Edited on Wed Dec-21-05 08:07 AM by TayTay
I am not having a good day. (Gonna need a pic thread here.)

My daughter is in New York City, taking her last final. Then she leaves the school. My husband has to drive into NYC and pick her and all her stuff up cuz she is changing schools. There is a transit strike. I am not sure I will ever see my long-suffering husband or my daughter ever again. (They could just fall into the Transit Twilight Zone. Sigh!) My husband is leaving for NYC at 5:00 pm or so tonight. He will pray that he can access New York, get my daughter and her stuff and get out. Sigh!

Johnny D is leaving The Sawx. (I am not entirely upset about this, btw. I love Johnny and his caveman thing, but he is 34 and wanted too much money. He has had some injuries in the past and I would not have resigned him at $52 Million for 4 years. It's just too much of a risk.) So, as is ever the case, he went to the Yankees. Sigh, you know you just have to face facts that the Evil Empire does occassionally smack you down. (It's a dismal day in Beantown, Johnny Damon has gone over to the land of pinstripes, haircuts and business suits. RIP 2004 Idiots. It was fun while it lasted.)

On the other hand, we got a wicked arm in that new pitcher, Josh Beckett. We still have 'tek (Yummy, yummy, yummy Jason Veritek) and the inspired David Ortiz. (I would die if David left, honestly. I adore the man.) Sigh!

Somebody order me up a few Guinness, a few Jamieson chasers and some sad songs on the overhead. It's going to be a blue, blue Christmas in Boston. (Why couldn't Johnny D have gone to Chicago or LA or Houston? Why is it always New York? No wonder I always root for King Kong. Honestly, Bartender, set me up again. My lil' heart is breaking.)

Hey, on the bright side, today is the first day of winter. (Hey, didn't winter start like, two months ago already? You mean this is the first official day of winter? Oh geez, it's gonna be a long, long, long off-season. Theo! Theo! Please come home, all is forgiven. Sigh, where is that bartender anyway.)
