I love trees, too. I am even a tree hugger. When a big dogwood fell down in front of my house in my first year of ownership of this home, I was grief-stricken. I even went out and hugged the tree before it had to be cut up.

The tree was diseased but I didn't care; I loved it anyway.

My cat loved it when I hugged the tree. She would join me but sharpened her claws on the bark instead of hugging it!

I know a fellow DU-er who does beautiful pictures of trees. I will write him and ask him to post some of his magnificent tree photos.

intheflow, that third one is a pleasing composition. On the one above, is that erosion that has exposed the tree roots?

electricmonk, first one is very unusual. Second one: ghostly. Ummm, I like!
