Autumn in the Northwest 2008: I suffer for my art...
Advertisements [?]
Late last month, I had to drop my wife off at work in Seattle, so decided to shoot one of the public gardens while we still had autumn foliage. Since the Japanese Garden at the Arboretum was closed, I decided to return to Kuboda Garden (ironically, exactly one year since I had photographed fall foliage there in a previous post). As it turned out, much of the foliage hadn't yet reached full color, but I (unwisely?) continued onward.

In any event, I began with the first example of Water (sort of) Falling Over (not very big) Things...

Followed by a selection of what little color was there.

At this point...well, I probably shouldn't say too much about this, since it involves a currently-open law enforcement case, but I'll just say that, within a few seconds of taking the above shot, and while I was still standing at the same position, I got attacked by a dog that was being walked in the garden, and wound up with a pretty nasty bite on my left leg. Fortunately, since I haven't yet heard back yet from the quarantine department of Animal Control, I can assume the dog did not test positive for rabies; however, the experience has been far from pleasant.

Anyway, since I had to wait a few moments for Park Department staff to get to the scene, I figured I might as well take my mind off things by continuing to photograph. This was the best of the few post-bite shots I could get.

Sorry that it took so long to post this, but, to be honest, I wasn't really too eager to look at these pictures again. (And let it be said that, at the moment, I do not like dogs. Not one little bit.)
