9. Bingo, Ioo. And the Georgia Lege probably knew that all along.
I spent the weekend at my gay brother's in ATL. His partner is a lawyer and big-time gay rights activist there. They anticipated just this sort of reaction from the religiously insane factions.

As anticipated, it is the anti-freedom, conservative/fundy Republicans who are screaming about so-called "liberal activist judges" voiding Georgia's patently illegal gay marriage ban. That's a tried-and-not-so-true right-wing chestnut that doesn't hold water in any court of democracy. Activist judges? I think not.

This judge (who happens to be an African-American woman) did what she obviously had to do .. conformed to the rule of law in Georgia. Any other judge ruling any other way would have been guilty of dereliction of duty. In fact, the vehemence of the religious wing-nuts' screed seems to me to be exacerbated by the race and gender of the judge.

Why do these fundy GOPers hate freedom? Why do they hate everything, including the teachings of their Christ? They need to get their own house in order because, unbeknownst to them, their Christ is standing on their lawn looking in their window .. and Christ is pissed.
