The thing is, if Joe thought he would stand a better chance at a Republican nomination, he'd be a Republican. He has no loyalty. So say Joe decided to follow his political heart and switched to Republican--would you expect him to retain Democratic committee positions? If he wants to be an independent, that is his decision and HE is letting his state down by doing so--not the other way around. HE is the one that is punishing the citizens of CT. It's time for a good dose of personal responsibility for Joe's actions. Any repercussions to CT belong to Joe and Joe alone.
