My letter to my rep re: The delay for DeLay

For those who don't know about this yet, Hastert has delayed Congress reconvening until Jan 31 to give Tom DeLay time to settle his legal problems. I just called my congressman's office but only got voice mail. So I left a message and then sent him this email. I am encouraging all DUers who are outraged by this partisan ploy (for Tom DeLay no less) to do the same.

I am OUTRAGED by the 'delay for DeLay'. We pay our representatives to represent US, not to help a soon to be felon (and ex-Congressman) fight his own legal battles.

I am encouraging ALL Democrat Representatives to return to work BEFORE Jan 31 and communicate to the country that they take their responsibilities seriously. Even if Congress does not convene before Jan 31, you will be sending a powerful message to your constituents and the citizens of this country.

Let the Republicans play partisan politics all they want. Please take the high road and refuse to participate in the 'delay for DeLay'.

Thank you,
