Kerry needs to apologize and make this go away

I am extremely upset at DU this morning. After I ate my breakfast I came on here to see what was going on like I do every morning before work. And what do I see? Fine members of this board accusing other fine members of being trolls, freepers, and worse; all because of this stupid Kerry thing. The fact is, whether or not you like Kerry, he completely fucked this one up. We all know the right wing has absolutely nothing going for them this election season and a week before the election they were scouring every democratic speech and event praying for a fuck up. And with Kerry they got one. What he said plain and simple is that if you are stupid and uneducated you will end up fighting in Iraq. Did he mean that? Of course not. He made a stupid mistake that frankly was offensive. My mother always thought me that if you make a mistake that is offensive you apologize, people will still respect you that way. This is why people don't respect Bush and co, because no matter how many mistakes they make, no matter how many people die from those mistakes they will never apologize or admit they did anything wrong. It is time for Kerry to take the high road, apologize, and make this stupid thing go away 6 days before an election. We can not afford to have this hanging over us next week, there is too much at stake.
