Great comeback, but not so good in front of the parents.

My brother-in-law is a racist, homophobic goose-stepping Republican. My husband was in Massachusetts this weekend to spend time with his family. Of course the subject of politics came up and my brother-in-law went off on the Democrat running for Governor. At one point he started whining that if he won, things would go back to the way they were under Dukakis. My husband finally had enough of his inane and insulting commentary.

Husband: Hey, do you remember who you were working for when Dukakis was governor?

Idiot Brother: Yeah, I was working for _________________.

Husband: So who are you working for now?

Idiot UNEMPLOYED Brother: *sputter*

My brother-in-law's job status is a tender topic in the family so of course that didn't go over well with my husband's parents. But it shut his brother up and he never mentioned politics again during the visit.

Have I mentioned lately how much I love my husband?
