Fla. Officer Accused Of Planting Drugs

Police in Miami, Fla., arrested a former officer Wednesday who is accused of planting drugs at the scene of an arrest, according to WPLG-TV.

Miami Police Internal Affairs investigators arrested former Miami police officer Torrance Gary. He had resigned on Feb. 18.

Investigators told WPLG-TV that Gary, 35, claimed to have seen Antoine Knight attempting to flush suspected heroin down a toilet during a narcotics arrest.

Police said that at the time Gary looked through the window of the apartment from the outside and witnessed Knight attempting to flush the drugs. Investigators said it later became clear that the toilet in question was not visible from that vantage point.
