Key members of the demo party, including some selected advisors, begged him to come back at Chambliss...as I said they had the message and they had the spots ready to go...and Max couldn't pull the trigger. And again, the polls going into the last few days - particularly the polls that the demo party was looking at, had Cleland and Chambliss closer than 5-6 points.

Don't get me wrong, the 'robgeorgia' Diebold effort made the job easier - hell it even brought down Barnes and he did have a comfortable lead - but both candidates ran poor campaigns and fell right into the repig hands.
