6. true of some but certianly not all
I would say that there are a few people out there who want to "punish women" but for the most part, I think people honestly care about what they see as a human being. Most of the exceptions in the bills you see put forth in Congress are disigned around the concept that it is better to have some protection for the unborn than none at all so they are willing to make concessions in order to get the bill passed into law.

Of course these bills are not viewed as an end in themselves but as a stepping stone or starting point from which to procede to making all abortions illegal.

Their big issue with sex ed is usually that they feel that safe sex is over emphasized while their own abstinence till marriage approach is neglected.

They do not laud the clinic bombers as heros because many of them believe that non-violent tactics should be used to bring about change. Therefore, the bombers are seen as murderers and on the same level as the abortion doctors.

As far as the US participation in the UN Population Fund, most of these people hold the view that we (as Americans) should not put ourselves in a position to have our laws subject to the whims of other countries and therefore are agianst the UN's very existence.

While these are not meant to be absolute statements, they are a compilitation of my observations.
