Get Ready For Record Gasoline Prices

Starting NOW, into and through summer, then, well you know, that hurricane season thing.

Third-quarter retail gasoline prices have averaged a premium to the first-quarter Nymex price of nearly 96% in the past five years. That would suggest a record high price in the third quarter of $3.32 a gallon, smashing the previous record and a summertime average of $3.19 a gallon, up 34% from a year ago and 27% above EIA's forecast.
