I never could see what was in it for Tony to lay down before Bush like he did. He could have remained aloof based on his well known freindship with Clinton if nothing else. It would have been easy for him to give selected support to the US by simply keeping a somewhat icy relationship with Bush, something no one would have blamed him for right from the start.
