4. Anyone Noticing A Pattern???
A couple weeks ago, supposedly booosh's 9/11 anniversary blitz was "swinging the momentum back to the Repugnicans"...then Foley. But in truth the "offensive" only made modest gains as the poll numbers remained mostly steady during that time...nudging up a point or two on this race and that one, but then Foley hit and not only did those numbers drop, but so did others that hadn't been affected before.

Last week, it was the Kerry "flap" and the corporate media was already trumpeting a "swing in "mo"" even before any polls were released. Yes, Kerry did have an affect, but not with those who already had made up their minds...which my hopes are equal enough in enough districts to make the difference in key races. It, along with the boogie man of "they'll raise your taxes" have, in what Kos notes, has the "regulars" who might have stayed home or the fence-leaners who just don't have the spine to vote conviction over party to "come home"...that's the tightening we're seeing, but we're still not seeing any real trend, just a ripple.

Any Repugnican "momentum" this election cycle has been a dead cat bounce!

The key number to remember is that Democrats are more motivated to vote this year and there are larger numbers of them than there were in previous elections...but they have to get to the polls. I'm glad we're getting this "Race is tightening" crap. Instead of demoralizing the people I talk to, it's just making us work harder. So many people I spoke with the other day...many who called themselves "independent" all couldn't wait to vote tomorrow and to "send a message"...and we know who that message is aimed at.
