Part of my job gives me a fairly significant amount of windshield time. Occasionally, I check in with AM Radio to see what the talking points for ditto-heads and the sham-itized will be, since it's normally an echo of whatever talking points Limbaugh and Hannity spew for the day. As of late, these "talk shows" have been nothing more than 3-hour long advertisements for the Republican party. Today, Hannity had several candidates on, no equal time, and throughout the entire show was encouraging Republicans to show up at the polls.

I'm fully aware that this becomes a slippery slope, because the last thing I would ever advocate is violating free speech to silence even those I despise. But where, and how, is the line drawn between a "talk show" and a 3-hour long political commercial.

And how do we level the playing field without hindering their right to free speech. It's beginning to make more and more sense to me why Rove's GOTV program is so efficient. I think Democrats would be equally efficient if they had 13,000,000 listeners to a 15 hour a week infomercial for the party.

I can't wait until tomorrow.

edited for grammatical errors, guess I'm pissed.
