2006 Virginia Festival of the Book: The Shape of Our Lives: Sprawl and Urban Planning: Douglas Morris "It's a Sprawl World After All" and Suzanne Morse "Smart Communities"

From the 2006 Virginia Festival of the Book in Charlottesville, a panel discussion about ways to reshape and improve American communities. The panelists are Douglas Morris, author of "It's a Sprawl World After All: The Human Cost of Unplanned Growth and Visions of a Better Future," and Suzanne Morse, author of "Smart Communities: How Citizens and Local Leaders Can Use Strategic Thinking to Build a Brighter Future."

Douglas Morris is the author of five books, including the travel guides "Italy Guide" and "Florence Made Easy." Suzanne Morse is the president of the Pew Partnership for Civic Change and the author of "Public Leadership Education: Skills for Democratic Citizenship - Get Involved!" and "Renewing Civic Capacity: Preparing College Students for Service and Citizenship."
