SPRINGFIELD -- A rental property management company calls the death of a subcontractor’s employee a tragic accident. A representative of TLC Properties say the framer was working on new construction at Coryell Courts apartments at 2020 E. Kerr St., near Glenstone Avenue at Interstate 44.

TLC says the man fell to his death on Tuesday morning. It says exactly what happened isn’t known but TLC believes he fell more than two stories. TLC says the apartment owner hired Herrman Lumber to supply materials and labor and Herrman hired a subcontractor to do the work.

The regional director of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in Kansas City wouldn’t release the worker’s name or employer but did say OSHA is investigating the accident. The Springfield Police Department says it's not involved in the investigation.
