1. THIS STRIKES SO CLOSE TO HOME
I have Heart failure and I have tried to get on public health
insurance. They say that SS decided I can work in
"some" type of position. Not the Union Carpenter
that I have been for decades....so I am not eligible. My union
will pay me my retirement (then I would have to purchase heath
care) as soon as SS considers me 100% disabled. I have a
disabled license plate,Vocational Rehab has decided I am
"schedule A" disabled (highest rating)...I have been
waiting almost 3 years for a SS hearing. They will probably
say the same thing they did 3 years ago...I used to be taxed
at 30%,,,plenty of money in my SS account. My
"final" job as a Union Carpenter was New Orleans. I
had a major heart attack (& 3 surgeries there). America?
if your wealthy. They took my home, got divorced (only
positive), & I take about 25 meds a day....when I can
afford them. No Change in sight until elections are publicly
financed. The government (civil service) has a disabled hiring
policy that looks great on paper. I have been trying to get a
job through them (guaranteed insurance) , for years...no luck.
I am 48 and have a B.S. in English....what a friggin sad joke.
Not bitter, just not blind anymore.
