I "understand" her attempt to reassure the American people that she wasn't going to use her power and influence for a witch hunt like the Republicans did against Clinton.
However...the pure contempt that Bush has shown this Congress does not deserve any further acts of faith from her. Bush has taken away every avenue of good will and compromise by his actions. The tool bag that Nancy was given at the beginning of her term--hearings, subpoenas, etc...has been undermined by this administration. The ONLY tool she now has left was one she didn't want to use, the tool of impeachment. However, the actions of this administration have made it clear that they will not respond to anything else.
She needs to understand that.
