It's important for vets to note diseases going from animals to humans such as anthrax, rabies, malaria, and to find the vectors(like mosquitoes).

One thing that was solidly imprinted in my dissection labs of cats and rats was that we have all the same muscles, nerves, bones, and organs as all other land mammals.

So basically we are as complex as a mouse. Yes, we're bigger and we can think and do more things, but we're still mammals.
