At heart, I believe Republicans are stingy people who resent giving $20 or $50 to a candidate. They like having the corporations buy candidates. Small business owners fancy themselves to be little corporations.

At heart, I believe Democrats are more generous, even if they can only give a little. So I think Obama's campaign is going to change their minds. Repukes have no one with the kind of charisma that makes a crowd full of ordinary people pull out their wallets or checkbooks. He is getting more money than the Republican candidates- and if he wins the nomination, watch out. (I'm for Edwards, but I can see the Obama has something people really like.) If Republicans raise less money they may change their minds.
