and expect them to come home without some kind of mental and emotional damage . . . add those to the tens of thousands of critically injured, and you end up with a whole generation of damaged Americans, many of whom will require special care for the rest of their lives . . .
American casualties in Iraq are not limited to those killed over there . . . those returning home are far greater in number and will have long-term impact on society and government . . .
