The times that someone points to god and claims he is the reason they are loving, compassion, tolerant and all the positives they claim to have can't be counted. We hear it so often from the religious. They help the poor and say god told them. They show compassion and say god told them. God also told them to wage war, to condemn gays, how to vote and whatever else a person cares to attribute to god.

Every time I hear or read it I want to scream...'No! That came from you...not god!'

'God told me to' has been used as the reason to do some good in the world, but it's also been the reason for a helluva lot of killing in the world. It's also been the reason for intolerance, oppression, and telling others how to live their lives.

When will people start recognizing that what they do and what they say comes from within?
