I think that's the psychology at work among the greedheads. The Jesus freaks are grooving on the Armageddon myth. Then there are the stupid, who think their daddies in Washington are going to watch out for them, no matter what.

In the meantime, conservatives fear change above anything else because change usually brings inconvenience and they hate to be inconvenienced. That's the reason for the intransigence.

Conservatives should be kept away from power. Forever.
