You are correct. It could be much worse.

It could also be better.

"Better," for me, would be getting, not the lesser of 2 evils, but an actual left-of-center, non-corporate/new dem president.

I didn't expect to be happy with Obama, since I wasn't happy with the policies he campaigned on.

It's not personal. If he could be moved just slightly left of center, I'd be content. He doesn't have to be off in left field with me, lol.

Other than the economy, which is a nightmare I don't expect to wake up from this year, if there is one thing he could do to send a little "happiness" my way, it would be to dump that POS Arne Duncan, appoint a liberal EDUCATOR to be secretary of education, and drop the tools of the privatizers, charter schools and merit pay. There are better, healthier ways to reform the system.

Or, if he wants to make my profession a continuing nightmare, he could drop the pandering to insurance companies and work aggressively for universal, single-payer, not-for-profit health care.

Either of those would make me happy. Both would make me delirious.
