Yes, there are some dogmatic personality types among liberals, but they're few and far between. You should read John Dean's book "Conservatives Without Conscience". A liberal can see many sides of an issue typically.

Also, by the time the Soviets established mental hospitals, the 'Marxist' or 'Communist' mindset was closer to the fascism practiced in Germany and Italy than during the years prior to Lenin's death. Stalin's legacy of iron-handed paranoia was more of an influence on the path that the Soviet Union took than the original revolution.
