I have a secret fantasy where Obama calls a press conference...

...I had this little daydream this morning:

The President approaches the podium, raises his hands, and the room falls silent.

"Good morning."

Pencils hover over note pads.

"It has come to my attention lately that there are, shall we say, concerned citizens who have expressed continued interest in the matter of my eligibility to be your president. (pause for laughter) Now, now. Settle down. These people have every right to express their opinions on matters that concern them. And I also have a responsibility as your elected representative to address these issues as they appear.

"To that end," he continues sternly, "I have decided to release, here and now, what those individuals have been asking for. My long-form birth certificate. Robert...?"

Gibbs approaches from stage left, wearing a Burger King crown and holding aloft an enormous scroll. He lifts a kazoo to his lips, blows "BA BA BA BAAAAH!!" and rolls the scroll out. It's thirty feet long, and runs down the aisle all the way to the door. Laughter erupts.

"Thank you very much for your time," says Obama, beaming. "Hopefully this will satisfy the naysayers out there."

But what you can't see on the cameras is the thousands of lines of text on the scroll, only visible to the reporters in the room. Later that day, a camera phone picture appears on some correspondents' blog, where you can see, repeated over and over in 10-point type for thirty feet of paper:

YOU LOST GET OVER IT YOU LOST GET OVER IT YOU LOST GET OVER IT ....

:)
