Explain to me how public funded abortions are any worse than...

...public funded wars? Especially elective wars like the Iraq war?

I understand the sentiment behind being against public funded abortions - people who are opposed don't want their money going to it. I can respect that point of view, but what I don't understand is why that line of logic isn't extended to other things?

What happens if you're a pacifist? You're still a tax payer. You're funding war. It's against your morality. Why isn't that considered?

After all, what's worse morally? Aborting a fetus, or blowing up a pregnant woman; killing both her AND the fetus along with her other living children?

It would seem to me that either we're going to have to move to a voluntary tax system, where we only pay taxes on things we morally agree with, or we're just going to have to suck it up and pay taxes on things we hate. There is no reason abortion should be treated any different.
