As many of you know, DU member, the NotoriousP.I.G (Jennifer) recently became a young widow when her beloved husband, Markus (affectionately called HerrHerr) was recently killed in a terrible accident on an autobahn in Germany, the country in which they reside. Jennifer left the US to be with her future husband. Her future is now unknown. Please refer to the following links that were posted in the lounge for more information:

Jennifer survived and is currently walking on crutches. She will begin physical therapy soon, and is in the process of receiving professional crisis counseling for emotional support.
I formed an immediate bond with Jennifer when I discovered that she recently had to personally view the aftermath of her sister's suicide via a shotgun. My only brother committed suicide, so I was able to relate to her. She is dearly loved by many on DU. My bond with her was created by compassion, empathy and love. I have spoken with her on the phone twice since his death. Please help to spread the love.
Jennifer has no family in Germany. Her sister, Jill, who lives in California, is currently staying with her in an attempt to provide Jennifer with both emotional and physical support. Her sister is disabled and on 10 medications per day, so she helps out as best she can. Her sister is all she has at this point.
Unfortunately, as often is the case with young couples, Markus had no life insurance. Jennifer was dependent on her husband's income from his job, and she currently has very limited income in the form of government assistance. She is not able to maintain the expenses of her current residence, so she will be moving to a smaller place (displaced) shortly.
Jennifer needs Jill to stay with her. In order for the German government to allow this, her sister must purchase German health insurance coverage on a monthly basis. This is problematic, since her sister is also on a limited fixed income due to her disability.
Jennifer has gone through an almost unbearable series of circumstances in a short period of time: the death of her sister, the death Piglet, the dog that she and Markus dearly loved,(hence her user name) last September, and now the death of her beloved husband, and the resultant financial hardships.
I believe that the DU community can help Jennifer to begin her healing process. This can only be attained by helping her to keep her sister with her for as long as possible. All funds will be solely used to maintain her sister's residence in Germany by providing the mandated health insurance.
If you are able, would you please contribute whatever you can to Jennifer and her sister to help get them through this difficult period? I understand that most of us are also enduring financial strain. Any amount would be most appreciated.
Please use the following Paypal account, which belongs to Jennifer's sister:
I have already made a donation to ensure that Jill's PayPal link is working.
sunshinejilly@yahoo.com
I will also have a P.O. box set up for those who do not use PayPal and would like to contribute. I will follow up with this information tomorrow.
I will update you periodically on the number and total amount of donations that have been received.
I have Jennifer's permission to handle this fundraiser.
Both Jennifer and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Bless you, and may your generosity come back to you 100 fold.
Jennifer will survive this tragedy ....and I know that when she is able to go onward with her life...she will pay it forward.
With love,
peace~
