23 minutes off of "real" time.
When we celebrate Summer Solstice, we have to do so at 1:19 (or so) AM on the day.
When the Pipeline finally started flowing, our illustrious REPUKE "leaders" in Juneau wanted the state to be more "in line" with Outside business relations. So we went on daylight savings time one year, and stayed there. About 2 years later, they decided to put Alaska on 2 time zones. We used to have 4 (this is one damn BIG state).
SO it's pretty fucked up.
But we still get our nearly-24-hours of daylight in summer!
