SAN JOSE, Calif., May 17, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Project HIRED, whose job search, training, career development, and employer services have helped thousands of people with disabilities for more than 30 years, today announces Carly Fiorina as the keynote speaker for their 25th Annual Recognition Breakfast on Thursday, May 20, 2010, celebrating disabled workers and veterans. This annual event brings together the business community of Silicon Valley, including community leaders, public officials and representatives from many leading Fortune 500 companies to celebrate outstanding achievements within the Project HIRED community.

"Project HIRED and its new program, the Wounded Warrior Workforce, are tangible examples of what is possible when the private and non-profit sectors come together to address mutually relevant issues," said Fiorina, current candidate for the Republican nomination for United States Senate and former chairman and CEO of Hewlett-Packard Company. "Project HIRED proactively and innovatively partners with the Silicon Valley business community to achieve its mission, leveraging this region's talent, technology, and people to help disabled workers and veterans achieve their professional potential. I'm honored to be part of this Project HIRED tradition and encourage the entire Silicon Valley business community to join us."

The two-hour breakfast program recognizes the talent and dedication of the Project HIRED community, which includes corporate sponsors, volunteers, employees, and clients. Highlighting the event is the public announcement of the new Project HIRED Wounded Warrior Workforce program. The keynote by Fiorina will focus on the potential of the unique partnership between Project HIRED and the Silicon Valley Business community.

"It is our pleasure to welcome Carly Fiorina and have her join this annual acknowledgement of our community's achievements and public announcement of our new Wounded Warrior Workforce program," said Gwen Ford, director of Project HIRED. "To have a leader of her experience and accomplishment in Silicon Valley address our audience of corporate sponsors uniquely honors our commitment to celebrate the businesses and local leaders that support us in so many ways all year, every year."
