For most of us, yes. And the outliers tend to fall into a single field - professional sports (think Michael Jordan or Brett Fava-refurve). But ten years on, I still keep abreast of happenings in my old career field despite now being in an entirely different one. I found (and still find) the old one interesting. My guess is that those of us who are NOT professional athletes tend to hang on to "work" as a hobby once retirement comes along.
