beginning with the unemployment compensation extension and tax cut for non-millionaires.

So far Democrats have refused to use their congressional powers to stop Republican obstructionism.

The details on how Democrats can effectively use their control of Congress have been posted many times on Democratic Underground.

But, the Democratic leadership in the Senate has only used its power one time under Senator Reid to force an authentic on-the-floor Republican filibuster. That Republican filibuster collapsed in less than 24 hours!

And Democrats can always threaten to use or actually use the Constitutional Option to pass their legislation just as Republicans threatened to do in 2005 with great success.
