it makes McCain seem like a centrist crossing over the isle, and having been Gore's choice for VP plus being jewish he will take a certain percent of the vote
that is usually democratic. Combine that with the way a lot of Democrats feel about him and how divisive his primary with Lamont was, he probably
feels little allegiance to the democratic party. Talk about irony, he loses the primary, retains his seat in the senate, and then becomes VP on the other ticket
with a 71 year old guy who's even money not to make 2 terms.... you couldn't write a story like that
