16. Take A Friend Or Three To Vote
My wife and I are about to make our plans to once again make sure that as many of our friends can and do vote this year...and make sure there's no reason they don't. In 2004 we helped several of my daughter's friends to register and then on election day we had an informal "election day party"...all of us heading over to the poling place as they all cast their first votes. We're back at it again this year...I'm working with my son and a group of his friends, my wife is putting together a similar group...our goal is to take at least 10 with us when we go vote. I just heard from my daughter who is on her own and living in another part of the state and she, too is organizing a party...including a group of new friends who were former GOOPers and can't wait to vote the GOOPs out and Senator Obama and the Democrats in.

It doesn't take much, but if every DU'er who cares would find ONE friend...specifically one who hasn't voted before or in a long time...and get them registered and to the polls, we can make a difference.

Truth be known, I refuse to believe Gramps can win and I won't lose a minute of sleep worrying about it...life's too short. Get back to me after election day about how I react if things don't go as I hope they will.
