The KPHX website has his time slot 3 - 6 PM listed as "To Be Announced" and they also have the following statement...

Statement regarding departure of Jeff Farias from Nova M

The Progressive Community has come to depend on the few liberal media outlets we have for critical information in desperately critical times. The Nova M Radio Network is by far the most valuable player in the progressive talk movement today. Lead by the powerful voices of Mike Malloy and Randi Rhodes, Nova M will continue to light the way back to true democracy with the best in radio talk/journalism.

We are saddened by the departure of Jeff Farias from the network. Jeff conducted his last show for Nova M last Friday (10-3-08). This was Jeff’s choice. The Nova M Family and listeners wish him the best.

The occupation of Iraq, global warming, the looting of the national treasury, the foreclosure crisis and the disastrous politics of the Bush Regime, command the attention of every true Progressive in this country at this moment. Rest assured NOVA M will be there to help analyze and expose the rhetoric of the right with the best talent we can bring to radio.

Thank you for continuing to support us.

Apparently that insufferable asshat Johnny Wendel was filling in for him today. There's no way in Hell he's the permanent replacement, or Nova M is going to lose a lot of their "Founder's Club" money.

I don't know what happened with Jeff. I liked him, though his show was designed to be Phoenix-centric. Maybe they want to go national with that time slot, since it directly competes with a Rachel Maddow show that barely features Rachel herself anymore, and the relative rookie Ron Reagan Jr.

Or in other words, maybe Sam Seder is about to get the daily time slot he deserves? That's the only way I'd feel good about the decision, is if it was an "upgrade" of some kind.
