45. I have polite conversations with many very conservative Christians I work with
always initiated by them (I'm of the old-fashioned don't-discuss sex, politics, or religion at work school), and they do feel that conservative christians are persecuted on earth. And, there are places on earth they *are* persecuted, but I said that America is not one of them.

I pointed out the difference say, between what Hitler did to Jews and gays and communists, people of conscience who objected to his politics, and someone not wanting to convert or have a conservative-christian lifestyle forced upon them and codified into law is *not the same*.

Then I usually hear something like - "But, isn't America a Christian country?" plaintively. And then i address that canard. I think D. James Kennedy was pushing some infomercial about that topic when he was alive.

I say that Christians are in the majority in this country, we have strict blue laws in our state-how can a persecuted group have that kind of pull?

But, in their minds, they are under assault at all times.
